jasper x aislinn
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Jasper was in Germany by his mismatched loving parents. He grew up in a tight-knit herd that all got along well. Having a happy childhood he blossomed into a handsome young colt and got the attention of all the ladies in the herd. He kept using kind heart, inherited from his mother, to help others and grow the herd strong. One day the lead stallion came back with another mare and young filly. This day changed his life forever as him and Emmy shared a connection right away. Attached at the hip the two youngsters played the summer away and fell in love by the time autumn came. As winter was coming along, something strange crept over the lands, it seemed to be darker each day as clouds constantly hung overhead and the sun seemed all but lost. The lead stallion learned of Emmy's and her mothers past in a dark herd that planned to call on the powers of evil to destroy the world. Emmy's mother, Dolly, explained to the whole herd of her torturous mate and how he planned to use their daughter to call upon the gods of evil. Jasper stayed close by Emmy as he learned of the wounds on her heart. She never left him although he was afraid she might one day. The next spring everything seemed to settle down and the sun came out again. He was head over heels in love with Emmy, but he couldn't get rid of the feeling that something bad was going to happen. His instinct was right as one day Emmy was kidnapped. Vanished without a trace. Jasper asked Dolly where the old herd was and she told him the location, knowing that it was indeed them who took her. When he arrived there he saw a weird ritual occurring but immediately spotted the grullo mare unconscious next to a large fire. He mustered whatever courage he thought he had and jumped out interrupting the chanting of one dark stallion. He charged into him and the stallion lost his footing falling into the fire. His screams pierced the air and the other horses standing around seemed to 'wake up' and bolted from the scene. Jasper stared in horror as the scene unfolded before him with the stallion wandering around before falling over one last time - dead. Closing his eyes he sighed and opened them again realizing that Emmy was gone from the spot he had last seen her. He searched frantically for her, turning around suddenly and seeing her - but it didn't seem to be her. Her hair floated as if gravity no longer existed and her eyes glowed pure white. She thanked Jas before he awakened the god of darkness and he asked if Emmy was okay to come back. Although she was a spiritual being guarding the door to Hell she regretfully could not save the life of his beloved. She blessed him and then left her vessel - Emmy slowly fell lifeless on the ground. Jas couldn't hold back his tears as he laid beside her and touched her cold body. He wandered around for a couple of weeks before returning to the herd - they had know that the stallion was defeated but not about Emmy. The horses that escaped didn't know she had perished. Being unable to bear the grief of losing her he left the herd for good and traveled across the continent to the Irish coast. He settled down in a random herd that was happy to take him and was one of the protectors of the young along with mostly mares. The lead stallion trusted him and knew of his story - he had no room in his heart to look at another mare. 4 years passed like that as he went from being a weak 3 year old to a wise, strong 7 year old. His life peaceful, lonely and not ever changing. That was until he met Aislinn, then it was like he was thrown in the turbulent stormy sea.
Aislinn was born in Ireland to her beautiful doting parents. They didn't belong to a herd but rather traveled along the coastal plains of their homeland. Isla was born with memories that were of her past life as a mare named Emmy and she mainly saw them in her dreams at night - she told her mother one time that she thought her dreams were real but her mother passed it off as a foal's wild imagination. She almost believed her as well until they started to turn into nightmares. She would awake in the middle of the night screaming and sometimes she couldn't go back to sleep afraid of what awaited her. That was until she met Jasper in her dreams. Her dreams after that were full of love and sunshine and warmth, sometimes she didn't want to awake in the morning. Each night she went to sleep eager to live more in her dreams, she felt as if she was falling in love with Jasper but each time he said her name she was brought down to the ground. She wished that he could see her as she was now and fall in love with her. She realized that in her dreams they were in a different land and somehow convinced her parents to travel the continent since she wanted to see what was outside of Ireland. 3 months into their travels her dreams took a turn for the worse again as she was taken away from Jasper and tortured by a dark stallion. He said he would go after her beloved ones if she didn't comply, so she had no choice but to be tortured and broken. She couldn't bear to see Jasper hurt. The nightmares were once again taking a toll on Isla unable to focus on finding Jasper on their travles. One night she was brought out to a fire surrounded by brainwashed equines - they were chanting something quietly, so hushed she couldn't understand it. Then it grew in sound and she felt like she was slipping away into darkness, what seemed like forever in the void. Suddenly a brilliant light flashed in her mind and Isla shot her eyes open. Her breathing was heavy and she looked over at her parents still asleep. She decided to slip away to the creek they had passed earlier to quench her thirst. As she arrived at the creek bed she noticed a shadow out of the corner of her young eyes, then she was suddenly pushed into the frigid waters of the creek. Two stallions stood over her as she screamed, alerting her parents. When they arrived panicked the three were giggling and sharing funny stories, the boys apologized for scaring their daughter but they were trespassing herd lands and were needed to be brought to the lead. Isla and her parents had met many leaders and knew that they would just be on their way in the morning. As they got closer to the herd, the half grown filly recognized Dolly. They had stumbled upon her old herd. Her eyes searched frantically for Jasper. Her mother noticed her weird antics and told her to calm down thinking she was nervous. Isla told her mother about her dreams and how they involved this herd. She pointed out her old mother Dolly and her step father Ezra who was the lead they were going to meet. She named other herd members she recognized but others were new like the two guards bringing them in. Her mother ignored her stories until they were greeted by the Lead Stallion and Mare - Ezra and Dolly. That was when she believed her daughter lived here in her past life or perhaps had mind gifts. Aislinn looked at her past mother and how she stood proudly by her mate but her eyes held such a sadness. Isla unconsciously stepped towards her and nuzzled her shoulder. Dolly jumped slightly at the young ones touch but it felt familiar to her and she looked into the filly's eyes and recognized her daughter in them. Tears streamed down the old mares face as she excused herself from the meeting. Isla ignored her parents warnings and went after Dolly. She didn't want her mother to be in pain anymore. The older mare hid behind a tree that had the twins at the trunk of it. Isla told her everything - wanting to heal her heart and eventually Dolly appeared before her again. "Are you really my Emmy?" Isla nodded relieved that she believed her. Behind Dolly she saw one of the foals get up sleepily and make their way to her side. "Mommy" Dolly put the child back to sleep and told Aislinn about her brothers and how she struggled raising them because she missed her Emmy terribly. Isla broke down and they spent the night together as a small family. In the morning her biological parents woke her up and announced they had to depart. Not wanting to leave without seeing Jasper she asked Dolly where he was. Dolly knew then that she was indeed her daughters reincarnation- then she proceeded to tell her that Jasper left the herd 4 years ago and they haven't heard from him since. Shocked Isla felt desperate to find him, she didn't know what state he was in or if he was alive. On the other hand what if he found someone else to love and had forgotten about her? A tear slipped down her cheek and Dolly mother nuzzled her face. She proceeded to tell Isla that Jasper lived for her and she would eventually meet him again - though she hoped it was when she was older. Isla laughed happily and the mood lightened - she wanted to leave as soon as she could to find him. She looked back as they were leaving to see Dolly brightly smiling - it was like her mom was back to herself. Another 3 months passed by as they began to head back home with nothing but memories from their exciting travels. She wasn't giving up though, as soon as she was matured enough she was going to leave her parents guardianship and explore herself. This time she obeyed their wishes to return home because they had gone along with her for so long on her selfish whim. One day as they reached the coastal side of Ireland they ran into a herd that was grazing and taking a beach day. That was when she saw him, it was Jasper. Of course he seemed older and his coat had lightened from the steel black of his youth to having grey spots. He captured her heart in one look and she told her parents. Being gypsies they didn't want to be tied down to a herd so they asked if this was what she wanted. Sadly her mother felt like Isla was no longer her daughter she was taken over by Emmy. They left her alone off to the side to be found by a herd member and hopefully taken in as an orphan filly. Their plan worked and soon she was face to face with Jasper. She introduced herself and he taught her of the herd and surroundings then left her alone to meet with the other children. It hurt that he was so unfamiliar with her but she expected as such, she couldn't wait to see his reaction when he found out she was Emmy. But then she thought to herself of his reaction - he would be happy to see Emmy but not her. Although she felt that Emmy and her were one she still felt her own identity as Aislinn. This was a different life that she could take in so many different paths, but she didn't want that Isla wanted him. Her soul desired Jasper. Aislinn decided to make him fall in love with her, as she was now and eventually she would tell him everything. It's not like it mattered, Emmy was dead so she didn't have to worry about her being a rival. But what she would find out was that her ghost would plenty of a rival to see her love unsuccessful. Yet days passed as she was attached to Jasper. She wanted to learn everything about his life after her, things that didn't change and what was behind his smile and laugh now. Isla noticed that he had a lady companion that she could tell had feelings for him but he still couldn't respond to her feelings. Isla felt happy knowing that he was still in love with her, well Emmy that is. One day the two were wandering around to the woods at the edge of the forest when they spotted a spotted canine wagging his tail as he sniffed around the edge of the forest. "Spottie!" Isla excitingly cheered and ran towards the older dog. Prancing together as he seemed to recognize the name she called him, Jasper noticed it as well. Spottie was indeed the name of this dog, which belong to him since he was a pup which Emmy found abandoned by his parents. She was the one to name him Spottie based off of his coat. Since her passing the dog followed him from Germany to this herd and began a family of his own and would come by checking on Jasper and keep him quiet company. Lost in his memories he didn't notice that Spottie was gone and Isla was looking up at with her big blue eyes, the same eyes as Emmy. A tear slipped from his eye and he quickly turned and began walking away from her. "Wait! Jasper!" She tried to keep up with him as his pace quickened and her immature body failed to do so, and she did the only thing she knew would get his attention, she cried out loud. He quickly looked at her thinking she was hurt and moved to her side. "What's wrong Isla?" She calmed down and laid her body against his. "Did I say something wrong?" He shook his head forgetting about what happened with Spottie, there's no way she could've know his name probably was just a coincidence. She nuzzled into his side with her soft muzzle and he suddenly became aware of her smaller frame against his. "Isla- stop." He moved away from her walking back to the herd, if they had known what he felt for Isla he probably would be kicked out. He didn't understand it at all, she was only two and still very much a child in body but they had conversations all the time and her eyes just seem to have seen a lot. He was constantly getting lost in her eyes, as if he could jump in and swim around. He shook out his mane, ceasing his thoughts when she came cantering up beside him. His mind fantasized that she was Emmy and they would be together again, this time allowed happiness. Jas woke up as the sun was rising and groaned feeling something heavy on his leg - looking at his side shocked to see Aislinn there. Her small face was by his shoulder and her ginger body curved along his. Her touch was comforting against his skin and he cursed the way she made him feel. He had only known her for 6 months and yet it felt like she had been there his whole life. A voice cleared behind him and he was surprised to see his Lead Stallion hovering above them. "Come with me." Slowly Jasper stood up careful not to awake Isla and he took one last look at her peaceful form sleeping. With a sigh he turned and headed to the cliff side where Heath stood waiting.
